Duane ArboGast

Duane Arbogast is an experienced and successful district leader in large suburban and urban settings; instructional leader with proven results in academic growth and closing the achievement gap; reform leader in teacher evaluation, compensation, central office organization, and equitable student funding; innovator in instructional models including alternative programs, charter schools, turnaround schools, and high school programs for working youth; consensus builder in community and business partnerships; and systems thinker. Arbogast is currently a strategic consultant.  He served as the Chief of Strategy and Innovation at the Children’s Guild, a non-profit child-serving organization from 2014 until 2021.  He had direct responsibility for innovative educational program creation and expansion. Arbogast also served Prince George’s County Public Schools as Chief Academic Officer in 2010 and served as the Acting Deputy Superintendent for Academics in 2012-2013. Prior to that time, he worked for 32 years in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools, serving as Senior Manager for Academic Accountability, a principal, assistant principal, and teacher. Arbogast was a Washington Post Distinguished Leader in 2004 for his performance as an elementary school principal and his school was named School of the Year by Exceptional Parenting Magazine in 2000 for successfully implementing a special education cluster site in a mainstreamed environment.
